Bio - Fernand Arseneau

Fernand Arseneau, MD, LMCC, Dip Sport Med, CIME
Moncton, NB

Dr. Fernand Arseneau is a family physician and also a sports medicine physician, practicing in Moncton, N.B., since 1990. He was a member of the Executive of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine for 8 years and received his diploma in sport medicine from that organization in 1992. He is an affiliate teacher with the Université de Sherbrooke and a teacher of pathophysiology at the Université de Moncton. He was President of the Sport Medicine Council of New Brunswick, Medical Director of Triathlon New Brunswick and Medical Advisor for Cross-Country Ski New Brunswick. He was a member of numerous medical teams in sport medicine and most recently he was Chief Medical Officer for the Winter Canada Games in Bathurst-Campbellton, N.B. He has been selected as part of the medical team for the Paralympics and the Olympics in Athens in 2004. Dr. Arseneau is very active in sports with a participation in 13 marathons, more then 100 triathlons including three Ironman races and in cross country skiing, he is first in Atlantic Canada to receive the official Wordloppet Master Diploma after completing ten races around the world.
